About

mr. C. (Cemre)
Yilmaz-Akyay

A lawyer admitted to the Samsun Bar in Türkiye, with academic training across Dutch, British, and Turkish legal systems, representing clients in complex cross-border legal matters.

Two legal traditions, one steady hand — Dutch precision, Turkish commitment.

She obtained degrees from the University of Westminster in London and from both Istanbul University and Ondokuz Mayıs University in Türkiye. She commenced her career as a personal injury lawyer at firms in London and Rotterdam before being admitted to the Bar in Samsun and establishing her own practice in 2022.

Her practice encompasses road traffic accidents, medical negligence, and insurance disputes with international dimensions. She regularly advises foreign law firms on Turkish law, provides pre-trial guidance, prepares expert reports, and serves as an expert witness before courts outside Türkiye.

With a thorough legal approach and keen attention to detail, Cemre helps her clients achieve effective solutions both in and out of court.

In overseas personal injury cases, particularly those involving accidents in Türkiye, Cemre prepares local standards expert reports in compliance with the English and Scottish Civil Procedure Rules Part 35. These reports explain the relevant legal and regulatory standards in Türkiye to English and Scottish courts, ensuring an accurate understanding of the Turkish legal framework for assessing personal injury claims.
